Shop Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick:
Fenty Beauty is on a roll this summer! First they launched the super hot Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush and Cream Bronzer (you can read my full review on the Cream Blush here and the Cream Bronzer here). Now they’re back at it again with the new Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick.
Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick comes in 10 shades and costs $22 each. All 10 shades are available at Sephora and the Fenty Beauty website.
Not only are the shades glossy, shiny, and sheer (obviously), but they are absolutely perfect for one of my favorite summer trend predictions. But between the hot temps and wearing masks, I think we’re going to see a lot less heavy makeup this summer and a lot more light natural makeup. That means this shiny new addition is launching right on time!
Of course you know I love that sleek white packaging. To be sure, I love that these lipsticks will add a bit of color without adding a ton of coverage. In fact, it’s almost a lipstick/balm hybrid. But they are a bit more full coverage than I anticipated for a product branded as “sheer”.
Although I think all of the shades are super pretty, I really wanted to try Suga Kiss or Retro Rose. I ended up buying Suga Kiss. In person, it’s actually closer to a hot pink than a light bubblegum pink. Which normally wouldn’t bother me, but it wasn’t all that sheer in person. So it looked like a quite bright pink lipstick. Not only that, but the product itself is super super soft. Like kind of melted and left bit bits of product on my lips and on my arm when I swatched it kind of soft. I do think softer lip products are better than firmer products, but I would be careful when applying this lipstick. And make sure it doesn’t get too hot and melt. (But you should do that with all lipsticks anyway.)
Overall Ranking (out of 5) –
Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick – 3.5 – I like the packaging and shade range and it smells really nice. But it’s a little expensive for what you get and the product itself is super soft. Which worries me that it will break, melt, or be super wasteful. Plus, I was expecting it to be a nice sheer, but it was quite opaque and intense.
