Shop the Joker Champagne and Macarons Face Palette:
Although I am a bit high maintenance and love using tons of different makeup products, I’m a very big fan of products that make life easier. Especially when it comes to travel. Even though we’re not really traveling anywhere lately. One product I really love is a face palette. However, they’re really difficult to do well. Especially since they go off of kind of a “one shade fits all” color assumption. So when I came across the new Jouer Champagne and Macarons face palette, I was super excited to give it a try. Especially since it combines three of my favorite things!
The Jouer Champagne and Macarons face palette is $34 and comes in two shade ranges – Sweet Cheeks (lighter) and Cheeky Crush (darker). Each palette contains a contour shade, a highlight shade, and two blush shades – one shimmer, and one matte. Of course each one contains the best selling Jouer formulas. Although I do love that the palette comes in two shade ranges, I really think it should come in at least 3, if not 4. Especially since it’s all about blush and highlight. There are so many more undertones and color ranges than can be covered by just two palettes.
First, let’s talk packaging. I really like the size and shape of this face palette. Plus the outside is super cute with all of the flowers. Not only that, but the pan sizes are decent and the mirror is great. My only complaint about the packaging is that because it’s light colored cardboard and not plastic, it gets dirty and is impossible to clean. Another thing I love about face palettes is that you can use them for more than just blush, highlight, and bronzer. You can use the shades as eyeshadows as well! Which means that you can create (almost) a full face of makeup with just one palette. (If you want to know more, I have a full YouTube video here about creating a full face of makeup with the Sephora Pro Face Palette.)
As for the shades, I got the Jouer face palette in Sweet Cheeks. Normally, I’m not a fan of sparkle blush. And I wish the matte blush was a little less peachy nude and a little more pink. However, when layered on top of each other (like in my look for today’s pics), it was super flattering. And I didn’t notice the sparkle at all. I also like how light and natural the highlight shade is. It’s not overly glittery or overwhelming. And the contour shade was very wearable and nice as well.
All in all, I think this is a super cute and handy face palette. I love that it contains so many options in one little package. It’s a great travel palette to keep everything you need right at your fingertips. Plus, it’s vegan, cruelty free, and gluten free. Everything you’d expect from Jouer.
Overall Ranking (out of 5) –
Jouer Champagne and Macarons Face Palette – 4.5 – This palette is cute, pigmented, reasonably priced, and both user and travel friendly. I love that you can use the shades not only as highlighter, blush, and contour, but as eyeshadow as well. But I wish it came in more shades.
