As you’ve probably noticed, braids are everywhere. From hipsters to red carpets to influencers, you don’t have to look far to find a great braid. However, have you ever stopped to think about how many Disney Princesses have braids? Although most have flowing long glistening hair, several have fantastic braids. Belle, Rapunzel, Ana and Elsa, all have glamorous (and practical!) braids! Not only are braids fun and fashionable, but they also keep your hair in check, off of your face, and out of your way. Lately, as the weather heats up, fun and messy Disney Princess hair has been my go-to. With that in mind, I created a brand new Disney Hair Braid Tutorial video just for you!
Of course, my most favorite thing about this hairstyle is that it needs really dirty hair. Throughout the years, I’ve trained my hair to only need washed a couple of times per week. Although it needs a good dry-shampooing, it doesn’t need a full wash. Since my hair is super straight and smooth naturally, it doesn’t do well with any style or look that needs a lot of texture. So if you’re one of those lucky girls with textured hair (or the kind that can spray a little texture or volume spray and get some va-va-va-voom), you’re super lucky and will love this braid. However, if you’re like me and need a couple days worth of dirt and a little extra help, this is a great 3rd or 4th day style.
First up, spray in some dry shampoo and/or texture spray. Next, part your hair however you normally do, and get ready to braid. Braid your hair as normal but leave a little more “tail” at the end than you usually would. Once your braid is secured, loosen up the hair at your roots and start to mess things up a little bit. Next, start pulling at the last bit of your braid and pull extra hair back up into the braid as you loosen everything up bit by bit. Continue until your braid looks sufficiently loose and messy.
That’s it! That’s all it takes to get awesome Disney Princess hair! Since it can be hard to understand via reading alone, I’ve created a full Disney Braid Hair Tutorial video for you! If you want to follow along with more videos, subscribe in the box below or follow along on YouTube here.
