It’s no secret at this point that I am a big fan of (almost) anything Pat McGrath creates. Although her products are crazy expensive, they are also very high quality. In 2020, Mother gave us the Divine Rose collection (you can read the full collection preview here) based on the original Mothership VII Divine Rose palette. Then, she gave us the follow up Mothership VIII Divine Rose II eyeshadow palette. Now 2021 is continuing the “year of the rose” with the announcement of the new Pat McGrath Labs Divine Rose II Collection.
As always, I’ve created a little Table of Contents for you. You can either read the post straight through, or click the name of the product you want to check out below and it will jump you to that section.

Pat McGrath Labs Divine Rose II Collection Overview
The new PMG Divine Rose II Collection includes two brand new products (a highlighter and an eyeshadow quad), three new shades of classic products (two liquid lips and one lipstick), and four classic products (eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, lip liner, and mascara) with limited edition packaging. All products will be available at the Pat McGrath Labs website on January 29th. Select products will be available at Sephora on February 5th. But I haven’t heard which ones yet, so keep checking back closer to Feb 5 and I’ll update this post as soon as I know more. UPDATE: All products in this collection will be available at Sephora on February 5!

Mothership VIII Divine Rose II Eyeshadow Palette
The Pat McGrath Labs Mothership VIII Divine Rose II palette is a relaunch of the special edition packaging from its initial launch. This palette with its stunning rose gold packaging is $125. It will be available at both PMG and Sephora. Of course I’m super partial to this palette because it has the most incredible trichrome shade and is perfect for both bold and every day looks. But if you want to know even more of my thoughts, you can read my entire review (including a YouTube video and swatches) here.

Divine Rose Luxe Quad: Eternal Eden Eyeshadow Palette
The new Eternal Eden Divine Rose Luxe Quad eyeshadow palette is $58 and contains four eyeshadows. Although I’m a fan of most of Mother’s products, I am completely addicted to her eyeshadows. Especially these quad palettes. In fact, they are the perfect size and the most luxurious packaging. One thing I love about this rose PMG quad palette is that it’s probably the most natural/neutral quad Pat McGrath Labs has released to date. in fact, this color story is giving me Charlotte Tilbury vibes.
When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I am a big fan of what I call “one and done” palettes. I think you should be able to create several day and night looks with one palette. And this one is sure to complete this mission. I love the rose shades and think this will be perfect for spring and summer. This one is on my list for sure.

Eternal Eden Divine Rose Eyeshadow Palette Shades:
(clockwise in palette from top left)
Pink Mystique – Light pink with a shimmering gold flash
Temptation – Muted matte magenta
Forbidden Fruit – Rich pink bronze metallic
Earthly Delight – Mid-tone cool brown matte

Skin Fetish: Ultra Glow Highlighter
The new Skin Fetish Ultra Glow Highlighter is $48. According to PMG, this highlighter is a gel-powder highlighter with next level shine. Plus it includes this insane limited edition packaging. And the packaging includes a mirror, which is something I thought was a major downfall in the holiday highlighter they released. (If you want to know more about the PMG Celestial Divinity highlighter, you should check out my YouTube video where I compare it to the holiday highlighters from Natasha Denona and Charlotte Tilbury.)

As for the swatches… I can’t exactly tell what this shade is going to look like. The photos make it look very pink. Even more pink than the Celestial Divinity highlighter. However, the formulas sound very different. Especially since this one looks SO pigmented and sparkly. Almost more like a stunning pink eyeshadow. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the Hourglass blushes with the combination of shimmer and color. I really wish brands would launch highlighters in at least three shades (light, medium, dark). Or at the very minimum, a cool toned and warm toned version of a “universal” highlighter.

Liquilust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick
The original Liquilust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick is being relaunched in two new shades and is $30 each. Of course, in true Divine Rose/PMG fashion, the shades are Divine Nude (left in above photo) and Divine Rose (right in above photo). But rumor has it, there are more shades to come! I have the Pat McGrath Labs liquid lipstick formula in three past shades. It is super silky, lightweight, and wears well. However, I’m all for a reformulation and can’t wait to try this new version. According to PMG, it has a “moisture complex infusion that leaves lips feeling soft and hydrated”. I think Divine Rose will be my preferred shade.
Permagel Ultra Glide Lip Pencil
Of course if you’re a PMG fan, you probably recognize these Permagel Ultra Glide Lip Pencils. They are $28 each and these two shades – Suburbia and Buff are yet again being relaunched in limited edition packaging. I’m not a huge lip pencil person, but I do enjoy the Permagel Lip Pencils. However, if you’re not used to lip pencils, these are super soft. Which can be nice because they don’t scratch and tug at your lips.

MatteTrance Lipstick
The classic MatteTrance Lipstick ($38 each) has a new shade – Divine Rose! This rose toned shade can be paired with either Buff or Suburbia lip liner to either amp up or tone down your preferred pink level. If you want to know more about my thoughts on the MatteTrance lipstick formula, you can read my full review here.

Permagel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil
The Permagel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in Blk Coffee is $28 and will be available with limited edition Divine Rose packaging. Unfortunately, the Permagel Eyeliner is one of the few PMG products I haven’t tried, so I don’t have any thoughts or opinions for you on this one. However, I do think including a brown eyeliner in this collection is an interesting choice. It will help soften any look into a more romantic and lush vibe versus a harsh black line. Although I am still more partial to black liner for my personal coloring.
Dark Star Mascara
Last but not least in this Divine Rose II collection is the Dark Star Mascara ($30). Although I don’t think this one has any special limited edition packaging or anything. But I do have to admit, this was in my top two mascaras for all of 2020, so if you’re picking up any of these Divine Rose II products, I would absolutely recommend tossing this mascara into your cart. Of course, if you want to know more about my thoughts, you can read my full review here.

Final Thoughts
Whew! We finally made it to my final thoughts on this new Pat McGrath Labs Divine Rose II Collection. Overall, I’m really loving this collection approach from mama Pat. Although some might get frustrated that about half of the products are existing products and half are new, I kind of like it. I really enjoy the thought of not having to buy an entire full collection to get a look. In fact, I can purchase one or two new pieces and pair it with some of my existing collection.
All in all, my personal top picks are the Eternal Eden Eyeshadow Quad, the Skin Fetish Ultra Glow Highlighter, Divine Rose liquid lipstick, and the Dark Star mascara. In my opinion, these four products can be mixed and matched in so many ways with existing products in your collection. The eyeshadow palette includes PMG’s insane formula and packaging without the $125 mothership price tag. And I’m freaking out over the soft pinks and the fact that the brown is a cool toned shade. Plus, the mascara will give you Insta-worthy lashes, and I’m always a fan of a great highlighter.
Of course I know Pat McGrath Labs products are very expensive. So if it’s not in your budget to pick up any of these products, don’t be sad. You’re still a stunning, amazing, and wonderful person. No matter what brand or products (if any!) you’re wearing.
XOXO,
Tiffany
