Sound the alarms! There’s a new launch from Pat McGrath Labs! I don’t know if anyone else has this reaction, but I get all fluttery when PMG announces new products. I’m excited to introduce you to…. The new Dark Star Mascara!

The new Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star Mascara is $30 and is available on both the PMG website and Sephora. Now I have to admit, the Fetish Eyes mascara is probably my least favorite Pat McGrath Labs product, so I was super eager to try this new one. My biggest complaints about the Fetish Eyes mascara is that it made my lashes super clumpy. Not only that, but it would just flake right off. However, that’s not the case with the new Dark Star Volumizing mascara. It gave me long fluttery lashes that were perfect for both day or night looks.

According to Mother’s Instagram, the new Pat McGrath Labs Mascara is a “weightless gel-hybrid formulation that delivers instant volume, anti-gravity lift, and legendary length”. In fact, I love a great mascara that can really lift and separate my lashes. Just like a great bra! I also love the shape of the brush. It has that fluffy hourglass shape that’s so popular right now. As for the packaging, the Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star Volumizing Mascara does not disappoint. The container itself is a very substantial feeling cylinder of golden opulence. It just looks and feels fancy. Although I love great packaging as much as the next girl, my favorite thing about this new packaging is that the top tightens with a very satisfying “click”. It’s a great little addition that lets you know your mascara is fully closed. Because when you pay $30 for mascara, you definitely don’t want to waste any by having it dry out too early.

As for the formula, I am hooked. It’s black. It’s malleable. And it’s oh so good. This mascara formula is one of my all time favorites. In fact, it reminds me a lot of my beloved L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. But more refined. I love this mascara for both day and night looks. Not only does it give soft, natural, but full lashes for day with a lighter makeup look, but you can also build your lashes up for a full on glam lash look as well.

Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star Mascara – 5 – I love this mascara. It’s so different from the OG PMG Fetish Eyes mascara. Dark Star gives me lashes that are long, feathery, soft, and bold, all at the same time. Not only that, but it wore well all day and didn’t melt or flake.
