Shop the Lawless The Little One palette:
For me, makeup is a true passion. When I look for new products, I’m looking for quality first. For example, I don’t care what brand a product is from, as long as it’s effective. Of course I’m also a big fan of great packaging, nice smells, etc. too though! Usually, it’s easy to find great brands with years of history of quality products. However, when it comes to “clean” beauty products, it’s hard to tell if they’ll be as good as their “normal” counterparts. In the past, I’ve reviewed the Honest beauty line, as well as other “clean” innovations like Ilia’s Super Serum Skin Tint and of course my Drunk Elephant and Summer Fridays must haves. But I’ve heard so many great things about the brand Lawless that I had to try the Lawless The Little One Eyeshadow Palette for myself.

Of course I found the Lawless The Little One Eyeshadow Palette in the “impulse aisle” – aka the checkout line – at Sephora. Sigh… Sephora, oh how I miss you and I can’t wait to see you again. Is anyone else just really missing wandering around a store right now? I would love to wander around Target for a while. You know, just let Target tell me what I need. I feel like Ariel singing in her cave of treasures. Surrounded by so many beautiful things, but there’s a whole big world out there I want to see! Anyone else? Or just me? Anyway… Back to the palette.

The Lawless The Little One Eyeshadow palette is $25 and contains 8 shades that are a mix of formulas including matte and metallic. Although the pictures on the Sephora website show a very neutral palette, I would say the colors actually lean a bit more warm than cool/neutral in person. For example, The One palette (the OG full size – $64) has a lot more of the orange and Burgundy warm tones, but the shades in this mini are still pretty orange/gold based.

For my look, I used the top row – First Base, Luster, Pony, and Smolder. For the most part, the formula is super smooth and buttery, and the shades applied nicely and wore very well. However, as you can see in the photo above, the shades Clutch and Plunge were really dry. They swatched super patchy and weren’t very pigmented. But I didn’t have any issues with the other six. First, I started with Pony in my crease and then added Luster all over my lid. Next, I used Smolder to deepen my outer crease. Finally, I finished up with First Base as a brow bone highlight.

Although The Little One is the first Lawless product I’ve tried, I’ve heard really great things about the whole Lawless line. According to the Sephora website, Lawless is “committed to providing beauty products that are Always Free of ingredients that harm your skin, your health, the earth, and animals. We don’t take the term ‘clean’ lightly. We really are Clean AF.” Not only are they all about clean beauty, but it sounds like they have a fun sense of humor too! Plus I’ve heard their lipsticks are really nice as well.

Overall ranking (out of 5)
Lawless The Little One Eyeshadow Palette – 3.5 – “Clean” ingredients, great size, inconsistent quality, and I wish the color story was a bit more neutral. For cool tones, the second row is kind of a waste. Would love to see a second edition for cool tones.
