Each week I try to bring you the most exciting launches, upcoming trends, and best new must-haves. However, I’m always coming across truly incredible products, wellness tips, or amazing little gadgets that never make it into the blog. Sometimes it’s because the post would be boring. Other times, there are just too many big launches, or holidays, or whatever else that month and something’s gotta give. With that in mind, I never want you to miss anything that I think is super awesome, so I’m going to try to bring you a “monthly favorites” post each month to share all of the amazing little things I’ve discovered that month. Without further ado, let’s jump into my January Favorites!

January Favorites - Abercrombie Sherpa Light Blue, Marble Yeti, Hip CleanStraws

First let’s start with all of the “new year, new me” stuff. Now you already know I’m not about that “new year, new me” life. But I’m all about becoming a better version of myself. As you know from my Daily Harvest smoothie review, one of my goals for the year is to be more intentional about my dietary habits. (read: less junk, more good stuff). One of the best ways to help your body out is to increase your water intake.

Although I already carry a (reusable) bottle of water around with me wherever I go, I’ve started a new habit of marking how much water I drink a day. First, I put seven strips of masking tape on the side of my bottle. Then, I write the day of the week and five empty squares on each piece of tape. Once I finish a bottle of water, I mark an X in one square and refill. Not only does that encourage me to drink more water, but it also holds me accountable all week long.

Of course, the amount of water you drink each day will vary person to person. To get your appropriate water calculation, take your weight and multiply it by 2/3. For example, if you weigh 160 lbs, your calculations would be as follows: 160 x 2/3 = 107oz per day. Which is 3.15 liters. (There are about 34 oz in a liter.) Although 5 Camelbaks (.75L each = 3.75L total) of water is well over my calculated amount, I feel so much better at that amount of water. So, as you increase your water amount, pay attention to how you feel. Do you have less headaches, more mental clarity, less body issues and better skin? Find the zone that works best for you and label your water bottle accordingly.

Along the same lines as a reusable water bottle and increasing my water intake, I’ve been trying to use fewer plastic straws. Although I’ve tried silicone, copper, stainless steel, etc, I’ve never found a straw that I really loved. Until now. To be clear, the texture of the straw doesn’t bother me. It’s the cleaning. Not only am I a huge germaphobe, but I also I HATE hand-washing dishes. So I need something that can go in the dish washer, and is easy to clean.

Hip CleanStraws - hot pink

Enter: Hip CleanStraws. They are reusable silicone straws THAT COME APART TO BE CLEANED! That’s right people. These straws open up so you can clean and scrub the inside. No crazy tools or whatever else to get out all the icky stuff. Plus they come in 4 colors and 2 variety packs. Of course they come in hot pink, which makes them extra special. (I’m using a hot pink one in my marble cup in the pic above with my beloved healthier Starbucks Medicine Ball Tea recipe you can find here.)

hot pink gogirl planner and frixion pens

Another of my January Favorites is something I look forward to every year – a new planner and new pens. This year, I’m loving this GoGirl Planner. (Again, in hot pink! But don’t worry, it comes in other colors too.) It gives you spaces to write down your goals, to do lists, and even a habit tracker. Plus, it comes with stickers and three different ribbon bookmarks so you can keep track of where you are in the monthly, weekly, and bullet journal sections. Not only that, but it’s also undated. So you can start whenever you want. No more wasting pages because you decided to start a new calendar in April. All that AND it has a pen holder! Man I love this planner.

Ok, I have to be real with you guys. I have no idea why, but I hate writing in pencil. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I used a pencil. It has to have been multiple years ago. However, pen isn’t always the most user friendly medium. Especially when it comes to calendars and other things that have lots of changes and corrections. So when I discovered the Frixion erasable pens, I immediately fell in love. They are pens that erase like pencils! I use them for absolutely everything. I keep one in my purse, one on my desk, one on my coffee table, etc. Plus they come in a bunch of colors (and even markers!) if you’re like me and get a lot of satisfaction from color coding everything in your life.

Of course it wouldn’t be my January Favorites without some beauty products! First up, we have the new Summer Fridays Glow & Go set – which includes a mini Jet Lag Mask a mini R&R Mask, and a Slip Silk Scrunchie for $34 ($54 value). You can read my full reviews on the Jet Lag Mask here and the R&R Mask here. I am obsessed with the Jet Lag Mask and use it every day. This is a great way to try both of these incredible products AND you get a Slip Silk Scrunchie. And I love everything Slip Silk makes.

Sephora collections eyestories mini eyeshadow palette Fresh Florals, Summer Fridays Glow & Go set, and Innisfree lip balm

Another beauty must have is the Innisfree lip balm. It comes in six different colors/flavors and is $10 each. These little lip balms not only have the most incredible smells, but they are the perfect hint of color. I’m wearing Wedding Peach Tea in today’s pics. They are perfect for the days where you need a little hint of color but don’t want a full on lipstick or gloss. I’m also loving these little Sephora Collection Eyestories mini eyeshadow palettes. There are 3 different versions at $10 a piece. I love the Fresh Florals palette because it incorporates some neutrals with a pop of mauve and a splash of goldenrod. (I’m wearing the Fresh Florals palette in todays pics too).

January Favorites - Abercrombie Sherpa Light Blue and ripped jeans

Last but not least in my January Favorites is this sherpa pullover from Abercrombie & Fitch. Honestly, 1/4 zip sherpas and yoga pants or jeans have become my uniform this winter. They are so warm and comfortable and oh-so-soft. It’s like wearing a blanket around all day. Plus, this gorgeous light blue makes me feel a little more like spring and a little less like winter. Although I do have a black one from Express too. You didn’t think I changed THAT much already this year did you?!

What do you think of my January Favorites? Do you have any amazing finds I need to check out? Let me know in the comments below!

XOXO,
Tiffany
