Shop Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette:
I am all for a pink moment. So it’s no surprise that I’ve had the new Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy Palette on my list for a while. When I saw that bubble gum pink glitter packaging, it was game over. Honestly, it’s a Barbie Girl’s dream.

Not to mention it includes the most stunning eyeshadow shades ranging from pale pink to deep aubergine, with some every day neutrals and a splash of aquamarine. ABH and Amrezy are taking me out of this cold snap and straight into summer with these colors!

First, let’s talk specs. The Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy palette includes 16 shades, costs $49, and is available at both Sephora and Ulta. The 16 shades include 1 satin, 7 metallics, 6 mattes, and 2 pressed glitters.

Of course, the formulas are all stellar ABH formulas and wear and blend incredibly well with amazing color payoff. Anastasia knows what she’s doing.

Although I’m a HUGE fan of ABH and their eyeshadows, I wish brands would stop including “pressed glitters” in their palettes. Now cosmetic glitter is better than craft glitter, but no glitter is completely safe to be worn on your eyes, and it can cause damage. Just ask my brother. I mean, I’m not even sure how in the world the poor kid could have been exposed to glitter in the first place… It couldn’t have been me… Anyway, back to the task at hand. The new 16 shade palette is slightly longer than the OG 14 shade palettes. IMO, I wish they would have stuck with the 14, removed the pressed glitters, and allowed my OCD brain to be happy with my series of identical palettes.

Now here’s the deal. Not everyone is under the Amrezy pink sparkle spell. Some people feel that if you already have the Modern Renaissance, Norvina, and/or Riviera palettes, you already have the Amrezy palette. So I’m here to put that to the test. (You can read my full reviews on the Norvina palette here and the Riviera palette here.) At first, I was hesitant to say that this palette was a combination of the other three palettes. After all, after so many years in bridal, I know there are about a zillion different shades of white. Surely these new colors weren’t already in the other palettes.

However, once I started swatching, there actually are a lot of similarities. Notice I said “similarities” and not “duplicates”. There aren’t any duplicate shades. But there are a few that are quite close. One may be a bit darker than the other. Or maybe they have different undertones or formulas. For example, Rezy (bright pink) from Amrezy is similar to Palermo from Riviera. Furthermore, Leo (blue) from Amrezy is similar to Seychelles (also from Riviera). Another similar pair is Semsa (Burgundy/Amrezy) and Love Letter (Burgundy/Modern Renaissance). Last but not least, don’t get me started on the warm toned caramel colors – between the four palettes there are 8 of them!

Overall, I think the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy palette is a really great palette. It has the same amazing ABH quality and wow factor as past palettes, and it’s gorgeous in person. I’m super excited to use the turquoise shade Leo all summer, and I’ve already created both hot pink and neutral looks that were each equally amazing. Plus Barb (light shimmery pink) is an absolute standout in this palette. In fact, I might just use that shade as a topper on a lot of looks from now on. It’s that good. However, if you already have the other palettes and you don’t want a lot of repetition in your makeup wardrobe, I think it’s ok to sit this one out. Especially if you already have both Riviera AND Modern Renaissance. Unless you’re like me and you’re just really mesmerized by all of the pink sparkles.

As always, just remember it’s not about the makeup. You don’t have to own the latest and greatest of everything to be happy or beautiful. Honestly, you could wear the same makeup every single day – or even no makeup at all – and still be beautiful. In fact, some of the most beautiful people I know don’t wear much makeup at all. Some even wash their face with a bar of soap. (Although I don’t advise that, I’m not here to judge.) You are beautiful, special, and bring your own kind of sparkle to the world. And it’s a better place with you in it.
XOXO,
Tiffany
