As you already know, I am a total sucker for good packaging and great marketing. So you know I was totally hooked the moment I discovered the new Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Storm eyeshadow palette. First, there is the name – Celestial Storm. It makes me feel like some kind of exotic dark weather goddess. For example, if Storm from X-Men and Elsa from Frozen combined into “Celestial Storm”. You have to admit that would be a pretty awesome superhero. Plus my super power could be turning snow into glitter or something. I don’t know. Anyway, back to the palette…

Honestly, I have never tried any of Christen Dominique’s other products before. However, these incredible jewel tones just called to me. With 6 mattes and 6 sparkle shades, this palette is perfect for the upcoming Holiday season. Like I mentioned in my “How To Wear Green For Fall” post, this winter is shaping up to be super colorful. With that being said, I love embracing color in my makeup, and especially in my eyeshadow. Which makes this palette a great option.

For my look, I used the shades Astrid Lust, Electric Amethyst, Mystic Ice, and Stargaze to create this incredible jewel toned unicorn look. To be sure, Electric Amethyst’s sparkle is completely stunning. I love the way it perfectly blended the other shades together. You have no idea how hard I had to fight my instincts and not do a pink smokey eye or a neutral look with this palette. Honestly, I felt like I needed to step out of my comfort zone a bit and show you something different to truly do this palette justice. However, it is so versatile and does have enough great neutral shades to create a ton of different looks.

To be sure, this palette is more than meets the eye. In addition to general mattes and sparkles, this palette includes pressed pigments and toppers too. In fact, I’m a big fan of toppers right now. Not only do they add a bit of sparkle to your look, but I just feel like they take things up a notch. However, I will say I find these toppers to be a bit lacking in dimension. Of course they do add a bit of glitter, but I just don’t think it’s enough to be super impressive.

Conversely, I think the pressed pigments and mattes are truly incredible. With this in mind, they were a bit tough to bend at first. But, after some patience and a lot of blending, the payoff was totally worth it. Truly creamy and buttery and oh so pigmented. In other words, they are wonderful. Definitely fit for a Celestial Storm Superhero.
What do you think of the Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Storm Palette? What would your superhero name and super power be? Let me know in the comments below.
XOXO,
Tiffany

I heard from another reviewer that they can be hard to blend , but the colors are so beautiful and I love your eyelook.
Yeah, when I applied the first shade, it was so patchy and skipped so bad and I kind of panicked. But after being patient and a lot of blending, it actually was really really nice. So I would recommend applying in layers and blending. And thank you so much! You are so sweet!
Thanks for the advice 💕
Of course! Always 💕
