Shop Huda Neon Obsessions:

Over the past few years, my makeup routine has changed a lot. Honestly, it became very simple. To be sure, borderline redundant. In fact I wore the same makeup every single day. Which is a huge departure from 20 something me who used to coordinate her makeup with her outfit every single day. But, as life got busier and responsibilities got bigger, my passion for makeup got pushed to the back burner. Until this spring. As the flowers started to bloom, so did the inspiration in new makeup launches. There have been so many incredible colorful cosmetics launches. From the recent blue eyeshadow trend to the fantastical ABH Riviera palette, to this shockingly bright Huda Neon Obsessions Pink eyeshadow palette.

As a Huda Beauty fan and owner of three of the other Obsessions palettes, I was very excited to hear about the new Neon launch. (Plus I predicted Neon would be a big trend earlier this year!) The new Huda Neon Obsessions Palette comes in 3 colors – Pink, Orange, and Green. Each palette contains 9 different shades and is $29. Of course, I chose the pink. Surprise surprise.

The pink palette contains 5 matte shades and 4 sparkle shades. To be sure, I really love the color story in this palette and how each eyeshadow truly is a shade of neon pink – ranging from coral to hot pink to purple. Honestly, I was surprised at how well the neon color read in the swatches! They are all so pretty. Also, the Neon Orange palette contains 6 matte shades and 3 sparkle shades in yellows, oranges, and pinks. Furthermore, the Neon Green palette contains 3 matte shades and 6 sparkle shades in a range of greens, pinks, yellows, and even a duo-chrome blue.

For my look, I used 5 of the shades – three mattes and two sparkles. Although I absolutely loved the matte formulas and they blended like a dream, I had a tougher time with the sparkles and felt like the formula lacked… something. I’m not sure exactly what.
