I love sunscreen. Of course, if you’ve read my blog before, this is quite obvious, as I talk about it all the time. Not only do I wear sunscreen when I’m outside on a sunny day, but I also wear it on cloudy days. And on rainy days. And even on stay inside and do nothing days… I’m not kidding. After a brush with skin cancer, I realized healthy is better than tanning. Plus, self tanners and spray tans have come a long way. However, I never thought about all of the different ways to wear sunscreen. Or all of the areas most people miss when applying sunscreen. Do you put sunscreen on your eyes? How about your lips? What about the part in your hair?

When I set out to discover alternative ways to wear sunscreen, I had no intention to focus on one brand. However, as I began to search, somehow all of the products that were innovative and creative and had everything I was looking for were all from the same brand. My beloved Supergoop! Although I did not set out to write about Supergoop, this has somehow turned into a love letter to my beloved sunscreen brand. This is not a sponsored post or ad. Just a girl, standing in the sunscreen aisle, asking a brand how it is so amazing.

First of all I have to mention the product that inspired this post – Shimmershade. Shimmershade is an eyeshadow cream with SPF 30. That’s right people! SPF 30 on your eyelids! Who has ever thought to put sunscreen on their eyelids? Not me! Even better, Shimmershade comes in 3 colors – First Light, Golden Hour, and Sunset. Of course you can wear them on their own, blend them together, or even add additional eye shadow over the top. Another great way to protect your eyes is with the Anti-Aging Eye Cream with SPF 37. Now, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a product with SPF “37”. Not sure how they got that particular number, as SPF is usually measured in a 0 or 5, but I’m not going to complain about it!

Next up, we have some unconventional ways to wear your normal old face and body sunscreen. For people who don’t like applying traditional cream sunscreen, there’s the Glow Stick with SPF 50. The Glow Stick is a hydrating clear sunscreen stick that will not only protect you from the big bad sun, but also hydrate and give you a little extra glow. If you’re like me and miss the good ol’ days of tanning oils and laying out in the sun, there’s Sun Defying Sunscreen Oil with SPF 50! Kind of like how I drink decaf coffee because I don’t handle caffeine well but love coffee, now I can still go outside and put oil on but it’s sunscreen!

Of course the biggest problem I have with sunscreen is not applying it, but reapplying! If you’re at an event or party, or just a regular day out, how in the world are you supposed to reapply sunscreen while wearing makeup? Well, Supergoop has your back! With both a refreshing spray and a setting powder, reapplying your sunscreen is a piece of cake. The Invincible Setting Powder in SPF 45 comes in 4 colors – light, medium, deep, and translucent. I have the translucent shade so I can dust it over any makeup look. The Defense Refresh Setting Mist in SPF 50 is fantastic because you just spritz a couple of sprays across your face and you’re good to go! Plus you can wear it over makeup or on its own.

Last but not least we have two majorly overlooked areas – hands and lips. They say you can tell a woman’s age by looking at her neck and her hands. So let’s keep our hands looking as young and amazing as we do! This Forever Young Hand Cream SPF 40 is a great start! Now for the lips… If you’re a gloss girl (or boy, I’m not here to judge), there is the Shine On Lip Screen SPF 50. If you’re not into glosses, there’s the AcaiFusion Lip Balm SPF 30. I’m a huge fan of the lip gloss because you can wear it on its own or over your favorite lip product. Plus you know… SPF 50.

If you’re interested in trying alternative ways to wear sunscreen but don’t want to commit to full size products, this Live Life In The Sunshine Kit is fantastic. It includes the Everyday Sunscreen, Defense Refresh Setting Mist, Shine On Lip Screen, and the Hand Cream for $45. Of course, if you’re not into alternative ways and you just really want a great sunscreen, I can’t recommend the Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50 enough. It’s absolutely fantastic.

XOXO,
Tiffany
