So you’re getting ready for an amazing weekend. Maybe it’s a trip to the beach. Or a hot date. It could be a fantastic vacation you’ve been waiting for for months. Of course you have to make sure you’re tan and looking good, am I right? But wait! What is that? After all of that work you just looked down and discovered your palms are orange and your feet look like you’ve trampled through the mud! Gasp! Now how are you going to be able to be seen in public? You need help stat! Luckily, there are a few different ways to fix spray tan mistakes and I have tested them all for you.

You messed up some spots –
Honestly, this is my most common mistake. I almost always end up with orange wrists or weird spots on my feet. Luckily, you might already have these DIY fix ingredients in your own kitchen! Mix some lemon juice and baking soda and apply it to your over tanned areas and let it sit for a bit. Then use a washcloth and warm water to wipe it off. You could also use lemon juice and sugar to create a sugar scrub if you have super stubborn dark spots.

Of course, if you’re still within an 8 hour window of your spray tan disaster, just hop in the shower. For example, if you scheduled your spray tan without watching the weather and you walk right into dreary rainy day, that hot tan is going to be a hot mess if you get rain drop spots all over you. However difficult it may be to watch $30+ go down the shower drain, it will be more difficult to fix that spotty reverse Dalmatian tan after it sets.

You missed a couple of spots –
This is one of the easier spray tan mistakes to fix. Just use your tanning mitt, a cotton ball, or even a q-tip to add just a touch more spray tan to the spots you missed. Of course you need to be very precise and careful that you don’t double up on the surrounding tan. Proceed with caution.

You got way too dark –
If you got way too dark, all you need to do is take a bath. Soaking in a hot tub will help lighten your tan. So will baby oil, body wash, basically anything they advise you NOT to do if you want your tan to stay darker longer. Although, I don’t recommend using an exfoliant or anything that can make you lighter but streaky. You don’t want to cause more mistakes trying to fix others.

You just need to start over –
Maybe you have all of the mistakes listed above. It’s possible you don’t have time to take a bath or make a DIY scrub. Or maybe you had a perfectly pleasant spray tan experience and it’s starting to fade and you just want to start over. Luckily, it’s easy to fix spray tan mistakes when you just want to take the whole thing off! Enter: St. Tropez Tan Eraser. First, apply the tan eraser to the areas you want removed. Then wait 5 minutes and rinse! You’re ready to start over and get your glow on again.

Although you may make many mistakes in life, at least spray tan mistakes are easy to fix. Unlike that guy you dated in college. Happy tanning!

XOXO,
Tiffany
