As you can probably guess, I tried A LOT of new beauty products in 2018. Full disclosure, I don’t officially review every product I try. Some are just plain disappointments and aren’t worth the amount of time and effort it takes to create a post. Plus, I know you guys want to know which products WORK, not which products fall short. With this in mind, I’m excited to share my top 5 favorite new beauty products I tried in 2018.

Of course, I could tell you about way more than 5, but I wanted to make sure to share the best of the best. The “must have” products I can’t live without. Alternately, you could consider these products the basics you just have to have to make 2019 your most beautiful year yet. Fair warning, there isn’t anything absolutely crazy on this list. Just tried and true products that do what they say and help me be my best.

First up, Hourglass Caution Extreme Black Mascara. You can read my full review here. This mascara is my absolute favorite. Since I rarely go anywhere (grocery store or gas station included) without mascara, you know this is the real deal. Specifically, the three sided brush really helps coat and separate each lash. And I don’t have any problems with it melting into raccoon eyes by lunch.

Next, we have Drunk Elephant skincare. Lately I’ve heard a lot of people asking about “clean” beauty products and Drunk Elephant’s products fit that bill. Not only are they free of what DE calls “the suspicious six” (silicones, chemical screens, sensitizing colorants/perfumes, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) essential oils, drying alcohols), but they also support the International Elephant Foundation, and are cruelty free. Plus, they’ve won several “Allure’s Best Of” awards. Of course I haven’t tried their entire line yet, but the T.L.C. Framboos Night Serum, and the C-Tango Eye Cream are two of my absolute favorites.

Next up on my list of must haves is Pat McGrath Lust: Gloss lipgloss. Now, I will admit, at $28, this is a bit pricy for a lip gloss. But let me tell you, mother knows what she is doing. Not only do the glosses have an incredible smell and texture, but the colors are just fantastic and I always get so many compliments. The shimmer finish Aliengelic is so amazing, but my favorite has to be Divine Rose. You can read my full review here.

Furthermore, in 2019 I am now a lip mask addict. Not only are lip masks great for the occasional treatment, but I actually wear them every day. As a matter of fact, I have a Laneige lip mask mini in my handbag and my travel bag, as well as on my night stand. I also have the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in natural, lavender, and peppermint. Unsurprisingly, the lavender is my all time fave.

Last, but not least, is the Slip Silk Pillowcase. Of course, this is the most expensive item on my list of favorite new beauty products. However, it is one of the most useful and one you’re guaranteed to use every day. Silk pillowcases can be beneficial to both your hair and skin by reducing wrinkles (I’m talking to you face creases from bad pillowcases!) and keeping your hair smooth and reducing damage. Plus, the silk stays cool if you’re always looking for the cool side of the pillow.

Do you have any new beauty products you’re excited to bring into 2019? Here’s to making 2019 our most beautiful year yet!

XOXO,
Tiffany
