Hi, my name is Tiffany and I am an addict. Of course, that’s not really a secret and shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. I’m pretty open about this particular achilles heel. Because of this issue, new beauty launches are my weakness. For instance, the second I heard about the launch of Pat McGrath Lust Gloss, I knew I had to add at least one to my collection. The makeup genius and Mother that brought us Lust 004, Mattetrance, and some of the most incredible eye palettes I’ve ever seen, has officially ushered in the Age of the Gloss.
As you may remember from my Lust 004 post, I am a huge fan of Pat McGrath. Her products are of the most amazing quality and exquisite taste. Before the launch of the new Pat McGrath Lust Gloss, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a celebrity hair and makeup artist. Someone overheard our discussion and excitement and said “Is this makeup artist really that much better than everyone else?” Subsequently, my friend looked up and exclaimed “Oh my goodness YES!”.

These glosses are no different. The packaging is sleek and sophisticated and the formula is amazing. I couldn’t decide which color(s) to get from the online swatches, and I decided to get the 4 piece Skin Show Cool kit, which included the colors Pale Fire Nectar, Dare To Bare, Aphrodisiac, and Divine Rose. Each of the four shades in the kit are available for purchase separately, along with 10 other colors. With a combination of shimmer, glitter, and satin options, there is surely a color for everyone. Although, I found it really difficult to figure out which of the shades were the super glittery ones and which were the more translucent ones from the online swatches.

Described as “sinfully scintillating”, these glosses are so enticing. Now, you know I love a good matte red lip. However, I am actually super excited glosses are coming back in style. I really loved the texture of the Pat McGrath Lust Gloss. Even the doe foot applicator was created with so much intuition and thought. It is larger than most, and has an almost hollowed out part in the center to hold extra gloss, making application so smooth, easy, and perfectly pigmented. In addition, these glosses even smell amazing.

Aphrodisiac – A beautiful light coral pink. Generally, I shy away from corals. However, I really loved this one. It’s a really great “I’m not wearing any lip products!” kind of gloss. Unlike other lighter translucent glosses, this formula didn’t settle on my lips or make any imperfections stand out. It would be a really great choice for an every day kind of look.

Divine Rose – A lovely natural rose. Perfect as a “my lips but better” shade. With a bit more pigment and a slight shimmer, this gloss instantly made me feel pretty. Give me a minute while I go put it in my purse so I can carry it everywhere.

Dare To Bare – A nude pale shimmer. This gloss was more opaque than I was expecting. However, its color payoff is beautiful and the shimmer is really pretty. Very “summer time”.

Pale Fire Nectar – A super glittery light pink. Now THIS is what I was hoping for! The glitter in this shade is absolutely exquisite. It’s not “hey look at me, I’m wearing glitter on my lips”, so much as “there’s something sexy about my lips, can you figure it out?”, but it’s definitely there, nonetheless. I will be not only using this as a gloss on its own, but as a topper for other colors as well.
Of the four colors, Divine Rose and Pale Fire Nectar were my favorite. Overall, the entire Pat McGrath Lust Gloss set is amazing and both the colors and the formula are worth the hype. They are luxurious, comfortable, and full of impact. Mother wouldn’t deliver anything less!
XOXO,
Tiffany

What color(s) are you going to get? They would look amazing on you!
Oh, my! They all look so beautiful! I love a good nude lippie! I already know without trying anything that Pat Mcgrath’s Collection is bomb; it’s just soooo expensive. One of these days, I need to just bite the bullet and buy something. Probably for my birthday (that’s usually when I justify all of my outlandish purchases)!
