When I turned 30, I asked my dermatologist what anti-aging skincare routine I should do to get the best skin possible. **Full disclosure, I am not a doctor. I don’t even play one on TV. I am not in any way telling you what you should do, or what is best for you. But, I will share with you what my dermatologist told me.** She recommended I use a retinol product every other night and to use a moisturizer with antioxidants on the opposite nights.
Anti-aging is the holy grail of the beauty industry. Everyone is out searching for the fountain of youth and the next big thing. As a little girl, I remember having to manually change all of the clocks in the house every spring and fall. (Yes, Virginia, there was a time before cell phones.) Now that computers run our lives, most of our clocks magically change themselves twice a year.
As I was thinking about “spring forward” and “fall back”, I began daydreaming about other ways we try to control time. Enter: Cher singing “If I Could Turn Back Time” in my head. (Man, has Cher figured out how to turn back time, or what?) If you haven’t heard the song, you should listen. It’s a good one. Or even better, check out the music video on YouTube. If you don’t remember a time before cell phones, the production quality and costumes in the music video may just blow your mind. Then again, if you don’t remember a time before cell phones, you probably don’t need to be reading a post about anti-aging…
Here is my secret to turning back the clock and renewing my skin. Dr. Brandt 2% retinol complex serum. I cannot convey how much I love this overnight revitalizing retinol serum. It has completely changed my skin. My skin is smoother and more radiant than ever. There is also an eye cream and a daytime version. Plus Dr. Brandt has free shipping on orders over $49 and free samples with purchases!
(The Overnight Revitalizing Serum (left) has been re-branded with beautiful new rose gold packaging since I bought this bottle.)
I’ve tried other retinol products, and they always make me break out or get really greasy. This anti-aging skincare product is so smooth and light. I couldn’t be happier with my results. Sometimes when I get super stressed and my skin gets tired (or I start to see little fine lines starting to appear), I’ll even use this two nights in a row. My skin is almost instantly revived.
I know a lot of people are scared of retinol products. I always make sure I keep it away from my eyes (unless I’m using a special retinol eye cream like this one), and use a high SPF sunscreen. But, let’s be honest, this wouldn’t be a good post about anti-aging skincare without mentioning sunscreen anyway! It’s important, people!
Thanks to my anti-aging skincare routine of Dr. Brandt 2% retinol complex serum and my favorite moisturizer, I can feel more confident in my skin and in myself. We can’t stop time… But, we can turn back the clock just a little bit. Even if just once a year.
XOXO,
Tiffany
